Furby

Furby was the strange, cute, slightly creepy robotic pet that every kid seemed to want in the late 90s. It blinked, chattered, wiggled, “learned” words, and made random noises from the corner of the room. For many people, Furby represents the peak era of 90s electronic toys: part plush animal, part robot, part virtual pet, and completely unforgettable. One interesting detail is that Furby caused a small panic in 1999 because some people believed it could record conversations. This led to bans in some sensitive workplaces, even though the toy did not actually record speech.
